Savannah, ca. 1900. Savannah City Hospital located at Drayton and Huntingdon Streets. It began in 1803 as a seamen's hospital. In 1819 it was moved to this present site. Over the years it has had numerous name changes. In 1931 the Methodist Church acquired it and named it Warren A. Candler Hospital in honor of Bishop Candler. In 1968 it became known as Candler General Hospital.
