Savannah, mid 1950s. Davenport House located at 324 East State Street facing Columbia Square. It was built by Isaiah Davenport, a master builder, who came to Savannah from Rhode Island. It is an example of Georgian architecture. It was saved from destruction in the mid-1950s by the Historic Savannah Foundation and is now open as a museum. Photograph taken prior to restoration of home.
